Replace AirTag Battery: Easy DIY Steps to Change It Yourself

To replace your AirTag battery, press down on the stainless steel cover and turn it counterclockwise until it stops. Remove the cover and the old battery. Insert a new CR2032 lithium 3V coin battery with the positive side facing up, then replace the cover. You can find batteries at electronic and drug stores.

After removing the cover, take out the old battery. Note the orientation as you do this; the positive side should face up. Insert the new battery in the same orientation. You should hear a sound indicating that the battery is making contact. Once the new battery is inserted, put the back cover back on. Align it with the AirTag and press down while rotating it clockwise until it locks in place.

Now, your AirTag is ready to use again. Replacing the battery is a quick and simple task that many can do at home, eliminating the need for professional help.
