How Do You Revive A Pb Battery?

When the battery is in use, the lead sulfate plates are converted back into lead oxide and lead, and the water in the electrolyte is converted into sulfuric acid.
Over time, the lead sulfate plates can become coated with a layer of lead sulfate crystals, which impedes the flow of electrons and reduces the battery’s ability to hold a charge. This process is known as “sulfation.”
Sulfation can be reversed by attaching a battery trickle charger or a computerized smart charger to the battery and allowing it to charge continuously for a week or more. The slow charging rates dissolve the lead sulfate crystals, and the battery is revived and able to hold a usable charge once again.
